Flights to London Gatwick

Search for cheap airfare to London Gatwick and book a flight to London

GatwickBeing London’s and the United Kingdom’s second busiest airport, it’s usually fairly easy to get a cheap flight into London Gatwick (code: LGW). Heathrow is much larger and definitely handles much more international traffic, but Gatwick handles much of the charter load for London and also a great deal of the boom in discount airline traffic as well.

This is not as close to London or quite as easy to reach, but there is a rail line that connects Gatwick and Victoria Station, so if you can save even a little money on the airfare it can be worth it. It should be easy to find flights into London Gatwick from within Europe and North America, but it’s not nearly as popular when coming from greater distances. You should search with the code LON, which will search all London airports at once, or at least try LHR for London Heathrow if you aren’t finding cheap airfare into London Gatwick.

Flights from Europe

You can find a flight into London Gatwick from nearly any city in Europe and all cities within the United Kingdom and Ireland as well. Many of the low-cost airlines use Gatwick, most notably EasyJet, so competition is high and airfares tend to be as low as they can be.

Flights from North America

There are flights into London Gatwick from about 10 major US cities and most large Canadian cities as well. Starting from New York City is usually the cheapest place, but it’s usually only a bit more to come all the way from the West Coast, even though you do have to change planes before crossing the Atlantic.

Flights from Asia

You can fly nonstop from Hong Kong all the way to London Gatwick, and sometimes fares are very low. From other major Asian cities you’ll often have to change planes in Hong Kong or the Middle East to get to Gatwick. For long distance flights it’s definitely worthwhile using the LON code for all London airports as sometimes one is much cheaper and easier than the others.

Flights from Africa

Many of the major African capitals have flights into London Gatwick, but it’s worth comparing fares to London Heathrow just to be sure.

Flights from Australia

You can’t even reach Heathrow all the way from Australia in one go, but you can change planes in the Middle East or Hong Kong and reach either London airport.
