London Arsenal Football Club

The mighty Arsenal. The team I’ve supported since childhood so forgive me a little bias.

Brazil-Sweden Tickets

sweden.jpgTickets for the Brazil v Sweden football friendly at Arsenal’s Emirates Stadium are now on general sale to the public. The game is taking place on Wednesday 26 March 2008 with kickoff at 7.45pm.

This is Brazil’s third trip to the Emirates in the last couple of years and the previous two games have had a good atmosphere. Tickets for this month’s game are on sale from £30-£40 and can be booked online at

Arsenal Tickets Available

arsenal.jpgTickets for Arsenal’s Carling Cup 3rd Round game with Newcastle at the Emirates Stadium on Tuesday 25 September are now on general sale. They’ve only been available to club members up until Friday but now £10 Lower Tier and £20 Upper Tier tickets have been released. Arsenal are sitting pretty at the top of the Premiership currently and while they’ll bring in a lot of squad players for the Carling Cup it should be a good game. If you’re buying online you’ll just need to complete the quick registration.

Arsenal v Sparta Prague Tickets

asp.jpgTickets for the second leg of Arsenal’s Champions League Qualifying round match against Sparta Prague have gone on General Sale. The game’s next Wednesday night 29 August with the kickoff at 8.05pm.

This is a good chance to see Arsenal play a competitive game at the Emirates Stadium, its very unlikely that any other Champions League or Premiership games this season will have tickets on General Sale as Arsenal have a system of Gold, Platinum, Silver and Red memberships who get priority on available tickets before non-members can buy.

Premiership fixtures update

Now that SkySports and Setanta have picked the first round of Premiership games they want to televise live this season the schedule has been rearranged and shouldn’t be effected by Cup games until the New Year, although after November the tv companies will probably move some more Premiership games to times that suit them. If you’re thinking of trying to catch a game this season here are the London clubs home Premiership fixtures as they now stand.

Premier League schedule is out

premtrophy.jpgNext season’s Premier League schedule of fixtures was released this morning, an exciting time for fans to see who their team will open the season against, when the local derbies are and what the end of season run-in is like.

My team Arsenal start the season with a home London derby against Fulham on 11 August (sorry Fulham fans but we should win that), then have three games against clubs who finished mid-table last season before an unusually early North London derby, away at Tottenham on 15 September. Other Arsenal highlights are home to Manchester United on 3 November, home to Chelsea on 15 December and home against Tottenham on 22 December.

If you want to catch a live game in London this weekend there are a number of options in football and domestic rugby. Only the Arsenal game of the ones below seems sold out.
Saturday 22 September
Football - Premiership
Arsenal v Derby 3pm
Fulham v Manchester City 5.15pm. Tickets on General Sale and available on the day.

Champions League fixtures

championsleague.jpgThe draw for the group stages of the Champions League was made today with two London clubs, Arsenal and Chelsea, both involved. Arsenal got a pretty comfortable group with Sevilla or AEK Athens, Steaua Bucharest and Slavia Prague while Chelsea’s shouldn’t be overly difficult with them playing Valencia, Schalke 04 and Rosenborg.

In case you want to catch one of these games here are the matches that will be played in London.
18 September - Chelsea v Rosenborg
19 September - Arsenal v Sevilla/AEK Athens

Arsenal players take the Tube

arsenalaway1.jpg
What are the chances you’ll ever see this quartet sitting on the platform at Arsenal Underground station again. The four in question are Arsenal players Thierry Henry, Gilberto Silva, Theo Walcott and Cesc Fabregas promoting the clubs new away kit for the forthcoming season.

Tickets are on sale for Arsenal’s pre-season friendly matches, including games at the Emirates Stadium. Arsenal have a seven game schedule starting with the traditional opener against Barnet at their Underhill stadium on 14 July. The first team squad then go to Austria for a training camp during which they’ll play Turkish team Genclerbirligi Ankara in Bad Waltersdorf on 19 July and FC Red Bull Salzburg in Salzburg on 25 July.
