World Cup Draw
The draw for the 2006 World Cup starts in just under an hour in Leipzig, Germany. Probably going to be millions around the world tuning into this ceremony to find out who their team will play and its always interesting when teams from different continents get matched against each other.

Who’s going?
The final shakeout of teams who are going to the World Cup next June should almost be done this week. After last night’s qualifiers 24 countries have made it through, probably the only big name from Europe not to have guaranteed a place yet is France.
I’m really surprised at some of the African countries who haven’t made it. Nigeria, Cameroon, South Africa, Senegal, you would have said the first three were bankers to go to Germany.
Got to feel sorry for Australia, every World Cup qualifying they win the Oceania group easily and than have to play a playoff against …

Ready for the draw
FIFA have announced the seeded teams for the World Cup draw on Friday night and the pools that the other teams will be drawn from.
FIFA have used results at the last two World Cups and the last three years world rankings to come up with the seeds, England somehow came out as seed 2 and are ranked #9 in the world currently. The Czech Republic, Holland and the US are world ranked 2, 3 and 8 at the moment but none are seeded.
FIFA have said ‘economic and geographical’ reasons can be taken into account in the draw and I’m sure …
