Conservative MP, journalist and sometime tv presenter Boris Johnson has announced his candidacy to be the Tory challenger to Ken Livingstone as the next London Mayor in the 2008 election. He’s certainly got the look and outsize personality to be recognized by the voters. He’s got a shock of white and a slighty dishevelled appearance that make him seem like a kind of nutty professor but he’s definitely a smart guy. He’d also be a more athletic mayor than Ken Livingstone, check out the tackle he made in the England v Germany Legends football game at Reading’s Madejski Stadium in May 2006, above.
