No escape from mobile technology

London Underground is going ahead with its plan to put mobile phone transmitters on the Tube network despite some objections over security fears surrounding bombs being set off.

No doubt some people can’t live with being out of mobile connect for more than a few minutes but it could make riding the Tube a bit more interesting.
At the moment you can have a carriage full with about thirty people, all trying to avoid eye contact with each other, no one talking to strangers, the train just rocking along in silence.

Imagine it now with 29 of those 30 passengers taking a deep interest in your phone conversation rather than having to look at the same few carriage advertisements, or maybe 15 passengers all cackling away on their mobiles, it could turn into a madhouse.
Either way it’ll give you something else to do on the Underground.
