They got it coming

Police in London are to accompany traffic wardens on patrol because too many of the wardens are getting beaten up. In return the wardens will report any offences they see being committed while on patrol.

I don’t know, the most hated group of workers in town setting themselves up as a bigger target, not a good idea. Nobody likes a snitch.

I used to work at Scotland Yard in the mid-80s. There was a department to handle assualts on traffic wardens.

A thankless job and one that has just got worse.

What they should do is do like in the US. Each person has a little mobile cart with a radio in. THe government also needs to get it across to people what will happen if you assualt a police officer of a traffic warden. When I worked a NSY you could assault a police officer and get a $30 fine. If there was a big fight in a bar and 4 cops rushed in, unarmed of course, people would think ‘what the heck, I’ll just beat up the cops too and get a $100 fine who cares. That’s no shit either, I read thousand of arrest and conviction papers.
