Travel show

Yesterday I went along to the Daily Telegraph’s Adventure Travel Show in Kensington to watch Jen Leo in action for the first time.
I don’t know if ‘Be Prepared’ is her motto, but she certainly was yesterday. Writing samples, brief resumes of her stuff, signed copies of her book, she had plenty of each to hand out to the right connections.

We got to the show about 12.30pm, on the way down Jen ran into her ideal man and his brother, watch this space to see if it pans out.

Jen managed to button hole most of the people she wanted to talk to and hopefully they’ll get back to her with some good offers. I know the one she’s dreaming of is to go on the Vodka Train from Moscow to Beijing or Vladivostock.
She’s just squeezing in under the age cut off for that, I just hope the twenty year olds can keep up.

The show was on three floors at Olympia 2, and I thought there were a good number of visitors but it wasn’t overly packed.
Jen spent about half an hour chatting up some middle aged guy hoping to get the inside track on some free Land Rover use, don’t know if they’ll be a pay off but you couldn’t fault her effort.

They were various displays besides the normal stands where people could try stuff like diving, climbing an ice wall, climbing a rock wall.
We were going to go again today but I think one day was enough to see what you had to see.

Travel Show

Here’s a link Jen Leo emailed me, about a major travel show at London’s Olympia taking place in the middle of January.
Jen’s giving up Belgian chocolates and beer for a few days and coming over for the show, so its guaranteed to be good.

Travel Show

Anybody planning a trip and in the London area next month might want to visit the Independent Travellers World show at the Business Design Centre in Islington from 21-23 February. I think this is the one Bootsnall took part in a couple of years back, but I could be wrong.
