Places of Interest

am.jpgWith centuries of history behind it London has more than its share of monuments, statues, unique looking buildings and structures that give the city its character. They’re not all old though, over the last twenty years there’s been a major building boom and redevelopment of vast areas London including rundown parts of the inner city, disused former dockyards and river front wharfs, leading to the construction of new icons of the London skyline such as the Gherkin building near the city’s financial centre, new bridges across the River Thames, the turning of the former Bankside power station into the Tate Modern and a new City Hall.

The links on this page decribe various places of interest that you’re likely to come across if you are on a trip to London and you can be sure that because its such a world city new ones like the recent Bali bomb memorial will continue to be constructed.
