A Taste of Spain at Borough Market

sff.jpgThis coming week is Taste Spain week in London and as part of it the capital’s premier food market, Borough Market near London Bridge, is hosting two days of Spanish culinary and cultural events on 17-18 October.

During the two days the regions of Andalucia, Asturias, Baleares, Cataluna, Castilla-La-Mancha, Galicia, Madrid, Murcia and Valencia will have stands offering free food and wine tastings as well as selling some of their top produce. Andalucia will offer tastingsof their famous Jamon Serrano and sherry, the Balearics will offer cheeses, sausage, sweet cakes, liquors and wines, Galicia wines, cheeses and pastries, while Valencia will be preparing a giant paella starting at 6pm on Thursday 18 October.

Barcelona’s famous food market La Boqueria will be sending over five stalls offering chorizo, olives, cheeses, seafood, peppers, fish, and salted, cured and dried ham. They’ll also be Spanish music and dance from Galicia, Madrid and the Balearics including the Dani Pannullo Dancetheatre flamenco breakdancing show.

Events last from 12 noon-8pm both days and Borough Market is off Borough High Street in Southwark, close to London Bridge. Map
