The Royal Geographical Society has a free photographic exhibition running at the moment called From Kabul to Kandahar: 1833-1933, featuring rare photos, drawings, maps and extracts from travellers journals from that period in Afghanistan.
The Royal Geographical Society is on the corner of Kensington Gore and Exhibition Road, at the top end of the street the Science Museum is on, and this current show is in their pavilion, the glass building right next to the pavement as you approach the top of the road. Its open from 10am-5pm, Mon-Fri and it never seems crowded when ever I’ve been past there. If you’re visiting the Natural History, V&A or Science Museum’s its only a few minutes away.
The exhibition runs until 9 March and the again from 16 April-1 June. South Kensington is the nearest Tube.
