This Sunday 9 September four major venues in the Brick Lane area get together to host the Brick Lane Music Festival 2007, an all day lineup of live bands, DJs, cabaret and theatre performances that are all free to attend. The venues involved are 93 Feet East, the Vibe Bar, Cafe 1001 and The Big Chill Bar.
At 93 Feet East bands will include Pete and The Pirates, Skyline, The Moths, Le Shark, The Brick Lane Boogie Boys, the resident 93 Feet Djs and anarchic comedy group The Dog-Eared Collective. The party at 93 Feet East runs from 12noon-midnight, entrance is free and there’s a BBQ in the courtyard.
In the Vibe Bar’s courtyard area bands playing are Tom Mansi and The Ice Breakers, The Skallywags, The Foreign Beggars, Shameless and Imperial Leisure. Inside the Vibe Bar DJs will be playing funk, hip-hop, grime, house, electro, drum n bass and breaks from 2pm-2am. The bar’s Red Room has cabaret, burlesque and physical circus performances as well as live music from Fragment Head and The Cracked, and DJs Phat Boy Tim and Nick Slim.
Cafe 1001 has two rooms of live music and DJs on from 11am-midnight while the day starts at The Big Chill Bar at 12noon with Sparky DJing followed by Norman Jay, Flevans, Regal, Shepdog and finally Johnny Clash and Duck/AKA Bam Bam Sound finishing at midnight.
