The BFI (British Film Institute) Southbank is holding a month long season of Burt Lancaster films starting 1 February. Lancaster who died in 1994 aged 80 had a long acting career stretching over six decades, starting out as the leading man, tough guy matinee idol then moving on to more eclectic roles.
The BFI season is split into two parts, the first features classic Burt Lancaster movies such as From Here to Eternity, Gunfight at the OK Corral, Sweet Smell of Success and Vera Cruz. Tickets cost £5-£8.60 depending on the film and the BFI Southbank is next to Waterloo Bridge on the south side of the River Thames.
