Cinema of Brazil at the Barbican

bf.jpgThe Barbican Centre in the City of London is holding a short season of films from Brazil under the title Cinema of Brazil - literature into film, on from 4-10 October. Films to be screened are all based on novels in Brazilian literature both old and modern and the movies date from the 1960s to the present.

Many of the showings will be followed by a ScreenTalk with the directors, actors or the actual author of the book the film is inspired by. Tickets for individual screeenings are £7 or you can see two for £10. The season kicksoff at 7.30pm on 4 October with the UK premiere of Crime Delicado which will be followed by a ScreenTalk with actress Maria Manoella and Brazilian filmmaker Nelson Pereira dos Santos.

The Barbican is on Silk Street in the City of London with Moorgate and Barbican the nearest Tube stations. Map
