Any petrolheads in town should get along to Alexandra Palace in North London this coming weekend for the London International Classic Car Show which takes place on the 24-25 February. They’ll be over 200 classic cars that date from pre-1990 brought along by members of over 50 car clubs.
They’ll be stands for trade and dealers, small businesses, car restoration companies and miscellaneous auto gear as well as an auction of vehicles. Among the autoclubs taking part in the show are the Lamborghini Club, the Alfa Romeo Club, the Mustang Owners Club and the De Tomaso Owners Club.
Alexandra Palace occupies one of the highest points in North London and has good views across the city, its also the location from where the world’s first regular ‘high definition’ television signals where broadcast from in the 1930s. Its Great Hall provides a huge exhibition space and is where a lot of the classic cars will be on show at the weekend.
The show is open from 10am-5pm, Sat-Sun and tickets are £12 adults, £5 under14s. Alexandra Palace is in the Wood Green area of North London, with Wood Green being the nearest Underground station, although there’s quite an uphill walk from there to the ‘Ally Pally’. Closer is the mainline Alexandra Palace station which trains from Moorgate and Kings Cross pass through.
