The National Trust has got together with Magnum Photos to pose the question, what does climate change mean for the UK, to 10 of Britain’s leading photographers and asked them to answer it by taking pictures of the effects of climate change around the country.
The result is an exhibition called Exposed:Climate Change in Britain’s Backyard on at the Hoopers Gallerey in the Farringdon/Clerkenwell area of central London. There’s certainly no doubt the British weather is changing for what ever reasons. The last few years have seen record hot summers and yearly temperatures, anyone will tell you the amount of rain we get is not what it used to be say 20 years ago and even this year in London during the winter, you could probably count on one hand the number of days that had a hard frost. Climate change seems in full effect.
Exposed uses pictures from photographers including Joe Cornish, Simon Fraser, Stephen Robson, Paul Wakefield, Andrew Butler, Paul Harris, David Dixon, David Norton, Ian Berry, Stuart Franklin and is on at the Hoopers Gallery until 11 May. The gallery is located at 15 Clerkenwell Close just to the north of Farringdon Underground station and is open 11am-4.30pm Tues-Fri (7pm Thurs), admission is free.
