dss.jpgReworkings of movies from the 70s and 80s as West End shows is very popular at the moment with the likes of Grease, Dirty Dancing, Footloose, Hairspray and Glengarry Glen Ross currently playing in London theatres. The latest to join that list, Desperately Seeking Susan, has just opened at the Novello Theatre on Aldwych just off the Strand.

The musical has Emma Williams and Kelly Price in the roles made famous by Madonna and Rossana Arquette and uses the songs of Blondie to help tell the story of a bored New Jersey housewife who ends up swapping lives with a New York drifter.

Tickets cost £15-£55 and bookings are now being taken until April 2008. They can be booked online or by calling the box office at 0870 950 0902. The Novello Theatre (formerly The Strand) is located on the eastern side of the West End theatre district, a short walk from Covent Garden piazza. Charing Cross or Covent Garden are the nearest Tubes. Map
