Easter activities at the Museum of London

The Museum of London and its sister Museum in Docklands are holding a an Easter series of events. At the Museum in Docklands tomorrow there’s a chocolate mobiles workshop, the West India Docks where the museum is, used to be where cocoa beans where unloaded off ships before being taken to be turnned in chocolate. This is for families with children over 5 and takes place at 12.30 and 2.30pm.

Also on Easter Sunday the Museum of London has two events, Tudor entertainment gives visitors the chance to experience the sounds of Tudor London and learn how musicians entertained in the courts and inns with music, song and dance. Its on tomorrow and Easter Monday and there are four performances each day with the first starting at 12.30pm.

On Sunday you can also find out how the Romans got water out of the ground for their bath houses in the workshop called Working Water, try the museum’s full size reconstruction of a Roman waterlifting machine and see what it would have been like being a slave in London 2000 years ago. Workshops start at 1, 2 and 3pm.

On Easter Monday the Museum in Docklands has a story session with The Pocahontas story describing how a group of settlers left London for the New World in 1606 and their experiences with the Indians. For families with kids aged over 6, sessions start at 12.30, 2.30 and 3.30pm.
