Lotus Brands Hatch Celebration Brands Hatch is a motor racing circuit about 20 miles southeast of central London, its the former home of the British Formula 1 Grand Prix and nowadays hosts various car racing events including Formula 3 and Touring Car Championships and well as World Superbike races. This weekend the Lotus Brands Hatch Celebration features the inaugural round of the LoT Elise Trophy with 11 full races, plus a full display of cars from Lotus dealers, Lotus F1 racings cars, a parade of historic Lotus cars and many other displays and stands including an Elise simulator to try. Gates open this Saturday 24 March at 8am, tickets are £12, free for under13’s.
East London Art Walk East London, particularly the Shoreditch and Hoxton areas, is known for the number of contemporary artists and galleries based there. This weekend there are two art walks, part of an established programme, where a qualified art professional will take you around 6-10 of the most interesting exhibitions showing at the moment. The one on Saturday 24 March meets at the Contemporary Art Project, 20 Rivington Street and the Sunday 25 March walk meets at VINEspace, 25a Vyner Street. Both begin at 3pm and cost £5
Voice of Slavery A charity concert in support of Anti-Slavery International at The Forum in Kentish Town featuring Razorlight, Supergrass, Finlay Quaye, Ed Harcourt, Congo Faith Healers, Los Muertos, Emmanuel Jal, The Vitamins, Drew McConnell and more. Its this Sunday 25th March at 7.30pm and tickets cost £25.
The Roller Stroll Calling itself ‘London’s second greatest free event’, this mass rollerblading/skating get together takes place every Sunday starting at 2pm at the east side of Serpentine Road in Hyde Park. This week the route goes on a zigzagging course through Brompton, Belgravia and Westminster, its normally a 6-8 mile skate. Open to anyone who can skate and stop.
Luigi Colani-Translating Nature The Design Museum has an exhibition showcasing the work of this renowned German designer from the last 50 years. Designing everything from cars, boats and planes to ceramics and consumer, and goods empathizing an ergonomic and rounded style, this is a show running until the middle of June. The Design Museum is in Shad Thames, near Tower Bridge and open daily from 10am-5.45pm, admission is £7.
