Central London’s Royal Parks continue to have an on going varied programme of free events this summer. Here are some of the things you can see for nothing over the next couple of weeks.
28-29 July - Music Village
Musicians, dancers and storytellers from around the world come together this summer for the 2007 Music Village, Europe’s longest-running festival of world cultures. On in Hyde Park from 1pm-9pm each day.
29 July - Bheki Mseleku
Bheki Mseleku is a South African pianist and saxophonist who’s performing at the bandstand in Regent’s Park from 2.30pm-5pm as part of the Regent’s Park Jazz Season.
30 July-3 August - Pizazz
Pizazz have performances each day at 11am, 1pm & 3pm to entertain the kids with parachute games, circus antics and more at the Lido and Swimming Centre in Hyde Park.
30 July-03 August - Inspired Lunacy
More fun and games for the kids this time at the Princess of Wales Memorial Playground in Kensington. Again there are three daily shows, 11am, 1pm and 3pm with circus stunts, balloon modelling, puppetry, comedy and magic.
31 July-1 August - Sierra Leone Blind Choir
This children’s choir from Sierra Leone are giving two preformances at the bandstand in Regent’s Park, on from 1pm-2pm each day.
4-5 August - Innocent Village Fete
A farmers market, live music, Morris dancers, cocnut shies and lots of stuff for kids to do. On in Regent’s Park from 11am-7pm each day. Its free but you need to book a ticket.
5 August - Liane Carroll
Liane Carroll is a world class vocalist and pianist who won the ‘Best Vocalist’ and ‘Best of Jazz’ awards at the BBC Jazz Awards 2005/6. Here as part of the Regent’s Park Jazz Season she’s performing from 2.30pm-5pm at the Regent’s Park bandstand.
12 August - KlezFest in the Park
KlezFest is a celebration of traditional Jewish music with the chance for the audience to participate in traditional song and dance. On from 2.30pm-5.30pm in Hyde Park by the Holocaust Memorial.
12 August - Pat Clahar
Patrick Clahar is one of the finest tenoe saxophonists around and perfoms as Regent’s Park Jazz Season, at the bandstand from 2.30pm-5pm.
