From Russia at the Royal Academy

raa.jpgThe Royal Academy of Arts opens a major new exhibition this weekend called From Russia: French and Russian Master Paintings 1870–1925 from Moscow and St Petersburg, which for the first time brings together a unique collection of masterpieces from Russia’s four main museums, Moscow’s Pushkin State Museum and State Tretyakov Gallery and St Petersburg’s State Hermitage Museum and State Russian Museum.

There are over 120 paintings by Russian and French artists painted between 1870-1925, including works by Cezanne, Renoir, Van Gogh, Gauguin and Matisse. The exhibition runs from 26 January-18 April 2008 and tickets cost £11. From Russia is open daily from 10am-6pm (9.30pm Fri) and the Royal Academy of Arts is located at Burlington House on Piccadilly between Green Park and Piccadilly Circus Tubes. Map
