Greenwich holds its annual Car Free Day this Saturday 22 September. The streets in the centre of Greenwich including around the Cutty Sark, College Approach and the Old Naval College will be closed from 1pm-5pm and the theme of this year’s day is Dancing in the Streets.
Greenwich is in great location along the Thames and the area has a lot of history and places of interest while still retaining a small town feel. During Saturday’s traffic free day you can see street dance, samba, jive and ballet performances and try your hand at Cuban, Soca and Hip Hop dancing.
Among the groups you can see performing are the Greenwich Dance Agency, The Jiving Lindy Hoppers, stilt performers Scarabeus, street dance crew Dynamix, The Divine Company with ballet dancers on stilts, live band Riverfront Jazz and Paraiso a Brazilian samba dance group. A temporary beach will be set up with food, information and advice stalls.
The nearest train station is Cutty Sark for Maritime Greemwich on the Docklands Light Railway (DLR). Map

I think it was bad planning to have Greenwich Car Free Day on Saturday 22nd September because this is when everyone will be travelling up to uni; and as a result most people will have to come up on the Sunday instead.
