Hay’s Galleria Oyster and Seafood Fair

hays.jpgHay’s Galleria, the converted 19th century wharf on the south bank of the River Thames between Tower Bridge and London Bridge is holding its 17th annual Oyster and Seafood Fair this weekend, 7-9 September.

The fair will centre around a team of chefs cooking some of the best fish and seafood from around the world including lobster, langoustines, mussels, crab, Spanish seafood paella and Thai seafood. They’ll also be seafood cooking demonstrations organized by the National Federation of Fishmongers and plenty of wine and Guinness on hand to compliment the oysters and other dishes.

A Caribbean steel band will be playing during the fair and they’ll also be street entertainers and face painters for the kids, and the shops in the galleria will also be open. Hay’s Galleria has a high curved glass roof covering the space between two renovated warehouses with one end opened to the River Thames side. Year round its home to bars, pubs, shops and various stalls.

The Oyster and Seafood Fair is open from 11am-8pm 7-8 September, 11am-6pm 9 September. You can find the Galleria just to the west of HMS Belfast and City Hall, and off of Tooley Street. Map
