The Southbank Centre’s Hayward Gallery has a new exhibition starting this Friday, 25 January, entitled Laughing in a Foreign Language. The exhibition features the work of 30 international artists including videos, photographs and interactive installations to examine whether humour can only be appreciated by people with similar cultural, political or historical backgrounds or whether its more universal.
Laughing in a Foreign Language runs until 13 April 2008 and tickets cost £7 from now until 6 February and £9 from 7 February-13 April, although the the £9 ticket also includes entry into another exhibition, Alexander Rodchenko:Revolution in Photography.
The Hayward Gallery is open daily from 10am-6pm (10pm Fri, Sat). The Hayward is located on the south side of the River Thames between Westminster and Waterloo Bridges. Map
