Fancy having a part in the next Harry Potter film? Well if you’re a boy or a girl aged 15-18 or know someone who is now’s your chance. The producers of Harry Potter & The Half Blood Prince are holding open auditions for the role of Lavender Brown this Sunday 1 July at Earls Court One and the part of Tom Riddle the following Sunday 8 July.
No experience is necessary but you must be in that age range and also be a citizen of the UK or Ireland. The queue will open at 8am and applications will be taken from 10am with the queue for them being closed at 1pm on both audition days.
Applicants need to bring a copy of their passport as proof of age and nationality, will be asked to fill in an application form, have a photo taken and then be seen briefly by the casting team. Sucessful applicants will be contacted directly. I don’t know how big the parts are but it sounds like an oppurtunity if you’re trying to get into acting.

Sharnay and Rebecca – Lavender Brown has already been cast, and will be played by Jessie Cave.
Tony – thanks, I just try to tell the truth, as it stops people paying loads of money to join agencies that promise you parts on HP etc. and will never be able to fulfill that promise.

Rachel – as I said in my post on the 14th – there are NO auditions going on at the moment, and there has been no announcement as to when auditions are going to be starting, if indeed they start at all.
I am interested in playing Lavender Brown. I’m a UK citizen, I’m female, I’ve had acting experience but I’m only 13 however I do look older than I am. (I’ve been mistaken for a 15 year old before). Can I still audition?
Don’t people read previous posts?
Eleanor – Lavender Brown has already been cast, and will be played by Jessie Cave.

I would love to be in the next harry potter film but i am only 12 and my birthday isn’t untill the end of december so there is no chance i will be in any of them. I think it is just not fair i only want to be an extra. They should make the age limts 12-18 i realy wish they would and i am from the UK so i could be in one of them if i was 15.
thanx
Ashleigh – if you want to be an extra, speak to your parents about joining some agencies. It depends on where you live as to which agencies will take you, but the following are all reputable and worth looking at: Casting Collective, Guys and Dolls, Ray Knight, 2020, Mad Dog. These are the main London based agencies.
That said, joining an agency JUST to be in HP is a bit of a waste of time, because there is no guarantee that you’ll be offered HP even if you do join an agency.
Take me for example – I’ve been in the extras business since I was 11. I’m now 22 and despite being with agencies that provide extras for HP, I’ve never been in any of the films. That said, the films I have been in more than make up for it. *grin*
That said, I’ve just been having a nosy at their registration T&C and all want 16+……which is no use for a 13 year old.
Apologies about that, didn’t realise they had an age limit on it.
Claire – I was wondering if you could help me. 17 year old male with no experience (unless you could a church play I did when I was 5.. Not that I remember much of it, mind..), but I have always wanted to be involved in television/film work. I was wondering how I’d approach any extra work or things of the sort. I was thinking drama classes/workshops, but I’m not too knowledgeable about that sort of thing, and you seem to be. I wouldn’t know where to look. I’d feel a right prat, etc etc. Any advise?
I would love to have a part in harry potter but I am only 12 and i live in hong kong (i am british)
I am quite good at acting too.
please reply to my other message if you can help just say it’s to claire Burley. thanks
Claire Burley – If you read other posts, it says no auditions are currently being held, if they were, they’re 16+. And the auditions would be in the UK, as JKR wanted primarily British cast.
I really want to act in the harry potter the sixth i can act verry good i act meny times on the tv pleas pick me
Tom – Yeah.. No. Just the way you said that makes me believe they wouldn’t pick you.
Although why you say ‘please pick me’ I don’t know, because I highly doubt anyone will look at this who has the power to give you a position in the film.
i know its a little bit to late but if you have a heart please let me be an extra i would do anything in harry potter please make my dream come true i beg of you if you have a heart thank you very much for reading this.
Jo – Read what’s been posted. The post above yours says that people who have any say in hiring and what not will NOT look at this page.

Yes, okay. You have a part. In fact, you have the part in Harry Potter. Well done. *sigh*
