There’s a free exhibition opening this Wednesday, 16 May, at the gallery@oxo featuring photos by the renowned French marine photographer Philip Plisson. The exhibition is titled ‘Ocean‘, the same name as his new book and features large format prints of images he’s taken in 50 countries around the world.
The pictures chosen are meant to show the beauty and ecological importance of the ocean and are taken both aerially and from the ocean’s surface. Philip Plisson says of Ocean, ‘I try to honour the sea through my gaze and I hope that visitors can share the emotions I feel, as I take them on a voyage between the sea and the sky.’
The showing at gallery@oxo will be the only one in the UK and Philip Plisson also says ‘By exhibiting in London I am returning to the very place that gave me my passion for marine photography.’
Ocean runs from 16 May-3 June and the gallery is on the ground floor of the Oxo Tower building, open daily from 11am-6pm. Its located on the south bank of the Thames between Waterloo and Blackfriars bridges.
