The London Tourist Board has a top ten exhibitions list on its website, a number of which are coming to the end of their run in the next couple of weeks. Here are the ones they rate the best ten and the dates they close in case you’re in London in January and want to catch them.
Leonardo Da Vinci: Experience, Experiment and Design The V&A’s exhibtion of Da Vinci drawings closes on 7 January, tickets cost £10.
Holbein in England Showcases the work Holbein did in London in the 16th century including many portraits of Henry VIII. Ends on 7 January with tickets £10.
The Turner Prize The prize was awarded in December to artist Tomma Abts, see works by all the contenders at Tate Britain until 14 January, tickets are £5.
Velázquez on at the National Gallery runs until 21 January with a show of the major works of one of Spain’s greatest painters.
David Hockney Portraits As the title says an exhibition of the portraits done by the British artist over the last fifty years. Showing at the National Portrtait Gallery until 21 January, tickets cost £9.
The Past from Above: Georg Gerster The aerial photography of Swiss photgrapher Georg Gerster, taken over the last forty years, highlights over 100 of the world’s most historic sites. Its showing at the British Museum until 11 February and admission is £5.
Game On The history and technology of computer games explained at the Science Museum. It runs until 25 February and for £8.50 you get to try over 120 games.
Henry Moore: War and Utility An exhibtion at the Imperial war Museum looking at the British artist and sculptors work from the 1930s-50s. Its £7 for tickets and closes 25 February.
Shell Wildlife Photographer of the Year Competition Now in its 23 year, this competition highlights some of the best photography of the natural world. The Natural History Museum hosts this exhibtion until 29 April with tickets costing £6.
Diana, Princess of Wales by Mario Testino Photos taken five months before her death by the famous fashion photographer are on show at Kensington Palace until 1 July with tickets at £11.50.
