London’s experiencing some sunny Spring like weather at the moment, excellent conditions if you fancy getting along to a film premiere and catching the stars as they work the crowds. Here’s a look at some of the films making their UK debut in the next couple of weeks.
11 February - Rambo Twenty years after taking the war to the Soviets in Afghanistan John Rambo is back kicking ass, this time that belonging to the military dictatorship in Burma. Sylvester Stallone obviously feels comfortable taking on the physical roles again that made his name and with the current score Rocky VI - Rambo IV we can probably expect the one man army to get another outing. This premiere is at the Vue Cinema in Leicester Square and Stallone is in town.
13 February - The Accidental Husband A romantic comedy, just in time for Valentine’s Day, starring Uma Thurman and Colin Firth about a radio show host married to a man she knows nothing about. Premiere’s at the Vue Cinema, Leicester Square.
18 February - The Bank Job British tough guy actor Jason Statham stars in this film which tells the story of an unsolved bank robbery in London in 1971 when millions in cash and jewels were taken and never recovered. Directed by Roger Donaldson (The Recruit, Thirteen Days) The Bank Job has its premiere at the Odeon West End, Leicester Square.
19 February - The Other Boleyn Girl Prince Charles will be on hand at the Odeon Leicester Square for the premiere of this film which has been chosen as the 2008 Royal Film Performance. It stars Natalie Portman, Scarlett Johansson and Eric Bana in a story set around Henry VIII and Anne Boleyn. Charles will be bringing Camilla along, no doubt to hold his popcorn.
