Golf as a participation sport is bigger than ever, more players and more courses springing up all over the place. This week the London Golf Show 2007 takes place at ExCel London and features a huge number of exhibitors, stands and activities.
There are over 250 exhibitors offering golf equipment, accessories, fashion, apparel, golf courses, golf holidays, fitness and other golf related stuff. They’re also setting up the biggest golf shop in Europe, a 32 bay indoor driving range to allow club manufacturers to custom fit your clubs for you, and around the show you can buy everything from golf carts to books, training aids and golf art.
ExCel London backs on to the Royal Victoria Dock and they’ll be a Floating Par 3 Championship set up on the water with 3 tees, one floating and two on land.
There’s a Nike Longest Drive Competition, a Junior Golf section with free coaching in the nets, junior putting, games, crazy golf, equipment, 4 golf fashion shows each day, a chipping green area with free coaching, a 100 Foot Putt Challenge with a week at a 5 star Spanish golf resort as a prize for who ever makes the putt, a show by the World Golf Trick Shot Champions and the event will be broadcast by BBC Radio London.
The London Golf Show is on from 26-29 April 2007 and open 12-6pm 26th, 10am-6pm 27-28th and 10am-5pm 29th April. Tickets cost £10 advance and £15 on the door. Custom House for ExCel on the Docklands Light Railway is the nearest station.
