London Open Garden Squares Weekend

square.jpgNext weekend, 9-10 June, is the Loire Valley Wines Open Garden Squares Weekend when around 160 of London’s private gardens and squares open their gates to the general public to visit and the sponsors are on hand at certain gardens with a range of their wines to sample.

London has many hidden, secluded or private green spaces and this is a great chance to see some of the ones that are closed to visitors for the rest of the year. The gardens and squares are spread right across London and include three prison gardens, Holloway, Wandsworth and Wormwood Scrubs.

Tickets that allow entry to all the gardens plus the wine tasting and a guidebook cost £6 advance, £7.50 on the weekend, under 12s go free. The opening times for each location vary over the weekend, so either check the website or guidebook.
