If the value of the pound hasn’t crippled your spending power in the UK yet and you’re looking for something original to hang on the walls at home, you may be interested in The 22nd London Original Print Fair taking place at the Royal Academy of Arts off Piccadilly in London’s West End.
Its the longest-running specialist print fair in the world and features around 50 exhibitors. A print is described as an image which has been transferred from one surface to another and an original print is an image produced from a surface on which the artist has worked. Prints of art works have been made for hundreds of years from artists like Rembrandt to modern day ones like David Hockney and Damien Hirst, and the price will depend on the quality and the date of the printing. Prices at this fair start around £200.
The London Original Print Fair runs from 25-29 April 2007 and is open daily from 11am-6pm (8pm 26-27th). Tickets on the door are £8 and include a catalogue. Green Park and Piccadilly Circus are the nearest Tubes.
