London Ski and Snowboard Show

ski.jpgThe days are getting shorter, the weather’s getting a bit colder and thoughts turn to a where to get a little winter sports action. Just in time the Metro Ski and Snowboard Show is coming to London’s Grand Hall Olympia next week from 24-28 October.

Featuring literally hundreds of stands offering advice from ski and snowboard holiday companies from Europe and North America, equipment suppliers, clothing companies, ski schools, in fact everything from a trip for novice skiiers and boarders to extreme events and helicopter mountain top dropoffs.

There are many different areas and features to the show including Land Rover sponsoring winter sportswear fashion shows featuring the latest outfits from manufacturers such as Oakley, Salomon, Nike ACG, Columbia and Schoeffel, a snowboard quarter pipe with international boarders competing, a 500m ski teaching slope, an ice climbing wall, ice sculptors, graphic designers showcasing snowboard designs and winter photography galleries.

They’ll also be expert talks on where to take a ski holiday, how to make a career from being a ski instructor or how to improve your technique. If you’re interested in trying winter sports this show covers just about all you need to know.

Weekday tickets are £8.50 advance, £10.50 on the door, the weekend is £12.50 advance, £14.50 on the door. The Ski and Snowboard Show is open from 11am-9.30pm Wed-Fri, 10am-8pm Sat, 10am-6pm Sun. Kensington Olympia on the District Line is the nearest Tube station. Map
