With Halloween next week other London attractions are holding seasonal special events to get people in the mood. Hampton Court Palace in West London starts a run of Ghost Tours on 31 October running until March 2008. Tours start at 7.30pm Fridays and 6pm Sundays and tickets cost £25. After the regular visitors have left for the day you can experience the atmosphere of the Palace and its apartments including the infamous Haunted Gallery and explore the grounds at night.
From 26-31 October Covent Garden Piazza is holding a free Autumn Pumpkin Festival with a series of events going on for the family. The London Dungeon, the city’s house of horrors attraction on Tooley Street near London Bridge is holding Halloween Uncut from now until 31 October. London Zoo is running a programme called Scare Tactics until 28 October looking at the darker side of animal behaviour in the run up to Halloween with a host of creepy activities for kids.
The BFI (British Film Institute) is marking Halloween by showing a new restored version of the Hammer Horror classic Dracula starring Christopher Lee and Peter Cushing, the first version of the Bram Stoker novel to be filmed in colour. Its on at the IMAX and other cinemas around London and the UK.
