ff.jpgThere’s a new exhibition opened today at the National Portrait Gallery called Face of Fashion that’s on until the 28th May and features the photography of five of the best fashion photographers from the US and Europe.

The photographers featured are Mario Sorrenti, Paolo Roversi, Steven Klein, Corinne Day, Mert Alas and Marcus Piggott (the last two work as a pair). The exhibition highlights the different styles of portraits they’ve photographed, not just of models but of actors and actresses, musicians and celebrities for the modern fashion market.

Two of the six photographers above are Italian, two British, one American and one Turkish. Brition Corinne Day who’s famous for discovering the model Kate Moss has put fashion photography on the back burner and is now known for starker portraits of drug use and illness. Italian Paolo Roversi has a reputation for classical black and white portraits of people like Madonna.

The National Portrait Gallery is open daily from 10am-6pm with a late opening until 9pm on Thursdays and Fridays. Admission for the Face of Fashion exhibit is £8.
