More London, the area alongside the River Thames near City Hall holds a series of exhibitions, performances and events throughout the year and currently running until 2 November is a free photography exhibition called Open Shutters:Iraq.
Open Shutters is an in-depth photography programme that helps women share personal emotional experiences with the wider world through images and text with the focus is on women from diverse communities and cultures. The current show displays pictures taken by a group of 8 Iraqi women and a six year old child who in the spring of 2007 set out using digital photography to capture and record their lives in Iraq now, four years afdter the fall of Saddam.
The pictures are shown on large rectangular display boxes which are lit until 1am each night. More London is just west of Tower Bridge along the stretch known as the Queen’s Walk with London Bridge the nearest Tube. Map
