There’s a new exhibition at the Photographers Gallery featuring the work of the four shortlisted photographers for the 2007 Deutsche Börse Photography Prize. Its awarded to a living photographer, of any nationality, who has made the most contribution to photography in Europe in a set one year period.
This year the four candidates are Philippe Chancel from France, who was nominated for his photos taken in North Korea in 2005, Swede Anders Petersen for his exhibition on life in the South of France, Walid Raad, originally from Lebanon for his work taken of that country and Fiona Tan, born in Indonesia and now resident in Holland, for an exhibition called Mirror Maker and its focus on the human subject.
The Deutsche Börse Photography Prize exhibition is on from 9 February-9 April. The Photographers Gallery is on Great Newport Street, just round the corner from Leicester Square, and is open 11am-6pm Mon-Sat (8pm Thurs), 12-6pm Sun. Admission is free and the nearest Tube is Leicester Square
