Tied in with London’s St Patrick’s Day celebrations this Sunday, 16 March, a world record attempt will be made in Trafalgar Square. Proud 2 B Pat will raise funds for Great Ormond Street children’s hospital by gathering the largest number of people with the same name in one place, in the case Patrick’s and Pats.
Anyone with that name is invited to turn up between noon and 3pm and asked to bring a birth certificate or passport to verify they really are a Patrick. Guinness World Records will need copies to validate the record attempt and organizers say if you can bring a photocopy it will speed things up.
Irish bakery Irwin’s in association with celebrity chef Paul Rankin will be making a donation to the hospital for every Patrick/Patricia who comes along.

have a beautiful 5 month old son called Patrick - love the name!
I am obsessed with tracing my ancestry which I discover goes back in every line except one to Ireland. There are not many Patricks in the tree but I’m still proud to be descended from a huge number of Irish ex Pats.
Just heard about this on Radio % Live 0830 on 16 March. I live oop North. Why always just London?
I could certainly have got to Manchester or European City of Culture, Liverpool at short notice - but alas not Trafalgar Square. We’ve got loads of 60 year-olds called Pat up here! Send a train for us!
Good Luck to the venture, and love to all at Great Ormond Street
