The barbican Art Gallery starts a major exhibition tomorrow called Panic Attack! Art in the Punk Years which looks at the art scene around and influenced by punk during the decade 1974-1984. It includes the work of 30 artists featuring photography, painting, performance, film and video, particularly art that was produced in London, New York and Los Angeles during that time.
The exhibition is spread over 18 rooms at the Barbican Art Gallery and also features a number of special events from June to September including Cinema in the Punk Years, guided tours, talks by the exhibition curators, discussions and live performances.
Panic Attack runs from 5 June-9 September and is open daily from 11am-8pm with tickets £6 online, £8 on the door. The Barbican is loacted on Silk Street in the heart of the City of London, the nearest Tube is Barbican on the Circle, Metropolitan and Hammersmith and City lines.
