rug.jpgWith the Rugby World Cup getting down to the nitty-gritty of the quarterfinals this weekend there’s a timely exhibition of rugby photography taking place at the Getty Images Gallery off of Oxford Street.

Titled Mud and Glory the exhibition is curated by Sir Clive Woodward, England’s coach when they became rugby world champions in 2003, and the photographs on show range from the 2003 World Cup Final to amateur players around the world. The pictures are all from Getty Images extensive library.

Mud and Glory runs until 24 October 2007 and a collectable book called Year of the Rose recording England’s triumph in 2003 will also be on show, it features over 600 photos and the thoughts and views of some of the key England personnel involved with the victory.

The Getty Images Gallery is London’s largest independent photographic gallery and is located on Eastcastle Street, a couple of hundred metres from Oxford Circus. Map
