September film premieres in London

There are quite a few film premieres taking place in London this September, no real blockbusters but some interesting films none the less. All the premieres will be taking place at cinemas in the Leicester Square area, here’s what’s on the schedule.

3 September - Run, Fat Boy, Run The story of clueless guy who leaves his fiancee on their wedding day and tries win her back five years later. Starring Simon Pegg (Shaun of the Dead, Hot Fuzz) and Thandie Newton, and directed by David Schwimmer of Friends fame. Premiere at the Vue Cinema, Leicester Square.

4 September - Atonement Romantic drama based on the novel by Ian McEwan about a 13 year old who accuses her older sister’s lover of a crime he did not commit. Stars Keira Knightley and James McAvoy (The Last King of Scotland). Premiere at the Odeon Leicester Square.

10 September - In the Hands of the Gods Docu/Drama involving five freestyle footballers from the UK who travel across the Americas making money from demonstrating their football juggling skills in the hope of getting to Argentina and meeting Diego Maradona. Premiere at the Odeon West End, Leicester Square.

13 September - December Boys Daniel Radcliffe gets a film role that isn’t Harry Potter in this film based on Michael Noonan’s novel about orphans in 1960s Australia. Venue of premiere not yet confirmed but should be in Leicester Square.

26 September - Kenny Australian comedy about a guy who delivers porta-loos, ‘a knight in shining overalls’ says the tag line. Premiere at the Odeon West End, Leicester Square.

30 September - Ratatouille Animated comedy about a rat from the French countryside who ends up in a Paris restaurant. Peter O’Toole, Brian Dennehy, Ian Holm, Janeane Garofalo and John Ratzenberger provide the voices among others. Directed by Brad Bird (The Incredibles). Venue of premiere to be confirmed.
