Brick Lane is the place to head to this weekend for some great Southeast Asian food and entertainment in the second Tiger Beer Singapore Chilli Crab Festival.
Its on from 1-2 September and as well as Singapore Chilli Crab they’ll be other delicious items such as chicken satay, Char Kway Teow, Hainanese Chicken Rice, Ice Kachang and Bur Bur Cha Cha to try as well as plenty of the main sponsors product.
Throughout the two days there will also be cookery demonstrations by celebrity chef Terry Tan, music performances by Singaporean musicians, music workshops, Chinese dancing, acrobatics and tumbling, Lion and Dragon dancing, martial arts displays, magic shows, henna-tattoo artists, Chinese calligraphers to write your name and an art gallery showcasing the work of upcoming artists from Singapore. They’ll also be stalls selling Asian foodstuffs in case you want to get the wok out at home and try your hand at oriental cooking.
The Singapore Chilli Crab Festival is taking place at the Boiler House (Truman Breweries), Vibe Bar and 93 Feet East in Brick Lane and entry is free. Events start at 12 noon each day.
Brick Lane is just east of Bishopsgate and Commercial Street in the City of London, with Liverpool Street and Aldgate East the nearest Underground stations. Map
