Special comedy night in London

stand.jpgThere’s a special night of comedy this Sunday, 25 March, at the Shaftsbury Theatre called LOL. Stand Up 4 Burma 2007, a fundraising night for human rights organization The Burma Campaign UK.

Burma is ruled by a military dictatorship that the United Nations has charged with crimes against humanity and which has kept opposition leader and Nobel Peace Prize winner Aung San Suu Kyi under house arrest for over 11 years.

The event at the Shaftsbury Theatre features well known British standups Jo Brand, Stewart Lee, Mark Thomas, Ayesha Hazarika, Paul Sinha, Patrick Monahan, Markus Birdman, Paul Chowdhry and Stuart Goldsmith. The evening is compered by Channel 4 newscaster Jon Snow.

The show starts at 7pm and tickets range from £15-£55, all money raised goes to The Burma Campaign UK. The Shaftsbury Theatre is on Shaftsbury Avenue and the nearest Tubes are Holborn or Tottenham Court Road.
