St Paul’s Cathedral is one of the greatest churches in Britain and one of London’s most recognizable landmarks. This weekend as we move into December is the start of Advent and on December 2, Advent Sunday, St Paul’s will be holding one of its most dramatic ceremonies of the year its Advent Procession, which moves from darkness to light with words and music focusing on the themes of life and death, heaven and hell, time and eternity, judgement and healing.
The service is open to the public and starts at 6pm. Due to the large crowds that showed up last year they are holding an identical procession and service the next day, Monday 3 December, also at 6pm. If you want to experience one of the world’s most famous churches being used for what it was built for this is a good time to visit. St Paul’s Cathedral is in the City of London at the eastern end of Ludgate Hill with St Paul’s and Blackfriars the nearest Tube stations. Map
