The Royal Botanic Gardens at Kew in west London is the place to go for plant lovers in the capital with its gardens receiving around 1.5 million visitors a year. Its not only horticulture that Kew uses to draw people in, this month they have their Summer Swing live music series on from 10-14 July. Its a varied programme and tickets are priced between £29-£35, if the weather improves a little it should be a great place to watch an outdoor show on a summer evening, here’s what’s on.
10 July - Jools Holland and his Rhythm and Blues Orchestra + Lulu, Gilson Lavis, Ruby Turner & Louise Marshall Jools Holland and his 18-piece orchestra are meant to be superb, here with lots of guest vocalists.
11 July - The Music of Dirty Dancing A company of top West End singers, dancers and live band perform all 26 songs from the hit show.
12 July - Björn Again + The AllStars A double bill featuring the top ABBA tribute band and a group of Europe’s finest session musicians.
13 July - Eliades Ochoa +Buena Fe The Buena Vista Social Club’s Eliades Ochoa is supported by Cuba’s hottest new band Buena Fe.
14 July - Jools Holland and his Rhythm and Blues Orchestra
