The Force is back in London

swc.jpgLondon already has a 30,000sq.ft Star Wars exhibition running from May-September at County Hall to celebrate 30 years of Jedis and light sabres, this week there’s a chance for the fans to get milked a little more with the Star Wars Celebration Europe taking place at ExCel London from 13-15 July.

The event features live entertainment, stars and actors from the movies, film and video presentations, a recreation of the Millennium Falcon set, a Star Wars Family Fun Zone, Droid Builders Club, a Star Wars Artists Alley, a Dealer Area and a lot of other sections. I know Star Wars is famous for generating huge amounts of money, but even after 30 years they don’t seem to have enough judging by the prices they’re going to charge for autographs. Getting Mark Hamill to squiggle on something you’ve just bought will cost you £85, Billy Dee Williams, Anthony Daniels and Dave Prowse will set you back £25. Seems extortionate to me but I guess they know their market.

Star Wars Celebration Europe is open 13 July 10am-6pm, 14-15 July 10am-5pm, tickets cost £21.75 adults, £11.25 children. Custom House for ExCeL on the Docklands Light Railway is the nearest station.
