This Saturday 8 December at 11.30am Covent Garden Market hosts the 27th annual Great Christmas Pudding Race, organized by the Cancer Research Aid Committee to raise funds for Cancer Research UK.

Their aim is to collect around £25,000 and to do this they charge competitors who enter the race. You can enter as a team of six or as individual and be allocated a team. Donations are £500 for the six person team or £100 for a single entrant. The race itself is a relay involving all the teams tackling an obstacle course in Covent Garden while carrying a Christmas pudding on a tray.

The Christmas Pudding Trophy will be presented to the winning team and the individual members will get their own prizes. A fancy dress trophy will also be presented to the team with the most creative costumes. There’s usually entertainment put on around the race and a selection of celebrities along to offer their support for the cause. If you want to join in email the race website to get details.
