He didn’t come into politics to change the Labour party – he came into politics to change the country…
So says the strap line to Tony Blair The Musical, and he did, he fucked it up royally and now he’s off pretending to be some roving Middle East peacemaker. At least the Israelis and Palestinians will know when he’s lying, his lips move.
You can check out this satirical musical journey through the Blair decade for two nights in London, 28-29 July both at 8pm, before it moves on for a run at the Edinburgh Festival. Its on at The Space, a former church on the Isle of Dogs just to the south of Canary Wharf, and features songs from writer/composer James Lark including ‘Not a day for soundbites’, ‘Oh! what a lovely war against terrorism’ and the Terrorist Countermeasures song.
Tickets are £6 and can be bought at either The Space or Tony Blair The Musical websites. The Space is at 269 West Ferry Road on the Isle of Dogs, Mudchute on the Docklands Light Railway is the nearest station. Map
