tsunami.jpgThree years ago this December an earthquake off the coast of northern Indonesia set off a massive tsunami wave that devastated the Aceh province of Sumatra along with parts of Thailand, Sri Lanka and the Maldives, killing almost 250,000 people.

This week a photographic exhibition opened at the.gallery@oxo on the bottom floor of London’s Oxo Tower building called Tsunami - face to face. Its a photographic project organized by the British Red Cross in which survivors of the disaster have taken pictures themselves and provided written descriptions of how they have coped since the tsunami and rebuilt their lives. It lets individuals tell their stories and also looks at on going projects in Indonesia, the Maldives and Sri Lanka.

Tsunami - face to face runs until 6 January 2008 and is open daily from 11am-6pm, admission is free. The Oxo Tower is on the south bank of the Thames between Blackfriars and Waterloo Bridges. Map
