Turkish Fest

turk.jpgLondon’s Turkish population has expanded rapidly over the last 10-15 years, especially in the North London area with Turkish owned businesses opening all over the place. You can experience a slice of Turkish culture along the banks of the Thames this week when for the fourth year running Turkish Fest takes place as part of the Coin Street Festival.

It includes Turkish traditional, contemporary and folk music, displays of belly dancing, Turkish food and drink such as pilav, dolma, lokum and baklava, and arts and craft stalls selling among other things textiles and jewellery.

Turkish Fest takes place from 12 noon-7pm on 14-15 July at the Bernie Spain Gardens along the riverside between the Oxo Tower and Gabriel’s Wharf and admission is free. Waterloo is the nearest Tube Station.
