This November the O2 Arena hosts a major exhibition called Tutankhamun and The Golden Age of the Pharoahs featuring over 130 spectacular objects from the tomb of Tutankhamun in Egypt’s Valley of the Kings which date back to between 1555BC-1305BC.
The last time a Tutankhamun exhibition was held in London was in 1972 when over 1.8million people went to see it. The event at the O2 runs from 15 November 2007-30 August 2008 and individual tickets will go on sale this September along with the group tickets of which 120,000 have already been sold.
Tutankhamun and The Golden Age of the Pharoahs will be divided into a number of exhibition rooms beginning with an Introductory film followed by Ancient Egypt before Tutankhamun, Traditional Beliefs, Death, Burial and the Afterlife, Religious Revolution, The Boy King, Tutankhamun, King of Egypt, Causing His Name to Live, The Science of Tutankhamun, The Tomb, Howard Carter Gallery and Daily Life in Tutankhamun’s World. Visits should take around 90 minutes.
If you are coming to London in the next year and want to take in the exhibition it might be an idea to pre-book your ticket as this could be a very busy show.
