Zee Carnival 2007 Europe’s largest Asian television network stages this entertainment and lifestyle exhibition at Olympia Grand, split into various zones including Zee Cinema where you can meet Bollywood and Indian soap stars, Zee Campus covering universities and students, and zones for Beauty, Weddings, Fashion, Entertainment and Real Estate. CARNIVAL 2007 at GUANABARA The Brazilian restaurant and nightclub in Covent Garden has six nights of bands, singers, DJ’s, samba dancers, samba lessons to get the spirit of Carnival in Brazil going in London. The events are on from 14-19 February, admission charges vary with the day so check their website. Guanabara is on the corner of Parker Street and Drury Lane in Covent Garden.
Homes Overseas Exhibitions 2007 If you’re dreaming of moving abroad fulltime or just having a holiday home somewhere in the sun, this exhibtion at Olympia National features expert advice from developers and real estate agents plus seminars on buying abroad, tax and legal regulations. Its open 16-18 February from 10.30am-5pm each day, tickets cost £2.50.
The Designer Wedding Show and The Asian Wedding Exhibition 2007 With Valentine’s Day on Wednesday many couples may be thinking of getting hitched this year and there are two wedding shows in London this week to offer ideas on planning the big day. The Designer Wedding Show is at Battersea Park from 16-18 February and features 120 companies covering bridal fashion, menswear and all the usual venue hire, catering, photography and other wedding related necessities. It sounds like the show to go to if you have a bit of money to spend. Its on from 16-18 February, 10am-5pm daily and tickets are £15 advance, £17 on the door. The Asian Wedding Exhibition covers the same ground as the other show but from an Indian sub-continent perspective. Its on for two days, 17-18 February in the Great Hall at Alexandra Palace in North London. The show is open 11am-7pm Sat and 10am-6pm Sun, tickets cost £8.
The Brit Awards 2007 The UK’s top music awards show happen this Wednesday night, 14 February, at Earl’s Court. Groups playing live include the Red Hot Chili Peppers, The Killers, Snow Patrol, Oasis, Scissor Sisters, Amy Winehouse and others. Tickets will be really hard to come by but you can win some online at the Brits website. The show is being shown live on ITV.
